Look Mum, I'm In a Bar

performative installation (2021-ongoing) overhead projector, optical filters, paper.

Look Mum, I’m In a Bar is a site-specific, ongoing project with an evergrowing archive of scenarios relating to and commenting on its surrounding context. By regulary changing the image throughout the duration of the exhibition, an alternative narrative slowly unfolds. A girl smoking in the bath tub, surrounded by left over junk food and broken wine glasses. A club scene with red disco lights. A mysterious man in a hat. A messy appartement, bowls of cereal everywhere. People waiting in line. Another glass of wine. Sometimes the saga gets narrated directly by the artist, talking and interacting with the viewer. Sometimes it unfolds quietly in the background.
